Talking Acutonics with Amy Earle

Earlier this week we talked with Amy Earle to discuss Acutonics, it's benefits and how to get started if you're interested in receiving a treatment.

In your own words, what is acutonics?

“Acutonics is a healing modality using the principles of acupuncture, energy meridians and specially made tuning forks.”

What are the benefits?

“I work with a lot of psycho-emotional issues like stress, anxiety, sleep issues and low energy. The treatment just helps people feel better, whether they are physically sick or work is getting them down. Most of us are challenged in our lives. My belief is that we need to treat the underlying issues that create the symptoms.”

How did you get started in acutonics?

“I started receiving the treatment about 10-12 years ago. This was when I was under a lot of stress. I learned of the use of tuning forks through my therapist. I have had many treatments with my acupuncturist, but didn’t like needles. After I retired I started practicing reiki, which I’ve been doing for a year now, and I added in Acutonics three or four months ago."

Who would you recommend the acutonics treatment to?

“Currently I am treating people going through chemo-therapy, which can be very stressful for them. The treatment does resonate with people who are really interested in sound, so if you really love listening to music or you’re especially connected to sound (like nature sounds or chanting) it would be a good fit for you. I listen to Tibetan bowls and hope to incorporate them into my practice in the future.”

How long is a typical treatment session? How often are they repeated?

“An hour to an hour and a half, once the client gets settled. I’ve been getting feedback, and after the first session it takes a couple days for everything to settle in and feel more positive, then that feeling usually lasts for a week. Repeating sessions every week for the first three  treatments seems to work best. Experts say that after about three sessions you really notice the benefits.”

Are there any spiritual aspects to the practice?

“For me, yes. The work is quite intuitive. I have to feel clear and be able to sense what is happening with people. I access chakras energy, faith and spirituality from a universal perspective. I meditate, and use both reiki and tuning forks on myself. The quote ‘Healer heal thy self’ is a good one to follow. In order to bring healing to a community, you have to be able to open yourself up and look inside to see where you need to do self-improvement.”

What does a typical day look like for you?

“I like to have an early-morning reiki practice, eat and think about my day ahead. The morning is dedicated to knowledge. I tend to read a lot about traditional Chinese medicine. In the afternoon I am usually doing a treatment for a client. I also do yoga, meditation and walking. I live in the forest and like to be near the ocean as well.”

Where should a person interested in acutonics start?

“The website acutonics.com is a good place to start. Not a lot of people are practicing it right now, though some acupuncturists may incorporate tuning forks into their practice. I operate my practice out of my home on the Sunshine Coast, and also make trips to client’s homes in the lower mainland.”
